Integrated innovation: the Aerokit system

The down tube is one of the most aerodynamically complex areas of any frame. We engineered it with a single objective: minimize drag and reduce bottle exposure to airflow.

The Aerokit system was developed by our Innovation Lab in partnership with Elite Cycling, a global leader in hydration systems for competitive cycling. The result: 1,100ml of total capacity, optimally distributed with minimal aerodynamic impact.

Functionally, the Aerokit operates as a spoiler — stabilizing airflow and reducing turbulence around the frame. Aerodynamic drag is cut by over two-thirds compared to traditional systems.

The Aerokit also accepts standard round bottles: 550ml on the down tube, up to 750ml on the seat tube. Traditional bottle cage compatibility is built in.

A new aero benchmark on the market

Tested in the legendary Silverstone wind tunnel. The results exceeded the brief.

A 13.6% reduction in drag, surpassing the 12% projected by CFD simulations. Measured across the complete bike-rider system, aerodynamic resistance improves by 4.5%.

Compared to the Filante SLR ID1, the numbers are significant: at 40 km/h, the ID2 saves 14.15 watts. Apply 290W over 70 km and you gain 1 minute and 45 seconds. In a competitive environment, that margin decides races.

Tested head-to-head against five top-of-the-range WorldTour bikes, the Filante SLR ID2 delivers an average aerodynamic resistance coefficient 2.42% better than the competition.

At race speeds, that's not marginal. That makes all the difference.

F-Bar ID2: Aerodynamic cockpit engineered for control

The F-Bar ID2 is a cockpit engineered around the demands of the modern rider. It was developed with Wilier's Innovation Lab and the athletes of the Groupama-FDJ United Cycling Team.

Every detail targets efficiency and control across all riding conditions. The O.E.F. (Optimized Ergonomic Flare) design delivers a 3 cm orthogonal flare between high and low grip positions, available in 35/38 cm, 37/40 cm, and 39/42 cm. Unlike conventional differentiated-width handlebars, O.E.F. maintains consistent control ergonomics throughout, locking you into a natural, tucked position that compounds the bike's aerodynamic advantage.

For the first time on a Wilier cockpit, all clamping hardware is fully integrated and hidden. The result is cleaner aerodynamics, better protection against dirt and sweat, and full UCI compliance.

The seatpost: Lightweight and efficient

Built on development data from the Supersonica SLR, the formula was already proven: optimized weight, stiffness, and comfort in a single component.

The Filante SLR ID2 seatpost carries that engineering forward. A slender, precise profile minimizes aerodynamic drag without sacrificing stiffness or vertical vibration absorption.

Available standard with 0 offset, with a 15mm setback on request.

Enhanced integration of the Shimano Di2 battery

Relocating the Shimano Di2 battery to the bottom bracket area was a performance decision. It delivered immediate, measurable advantages.

Accessibility: The battery is enclosed in a resin casing and secured with two screws. Check it or replace it in seconds. No seatpost removal or saddle height adjustment required.

Lower Center of Gravity: The repositioned battery drops the bike's center of mass, working in sync with the lowered Aerokit. The result is a more stable, precise, and responsive ride at high speeds.

The rear triangle: Evolved in every detail

The wide rear stays, joining the seat tube with a broken line, are carried forward from the Filante SLR ID1. The silhouette is deliberate: this is a frame that communicates intent from every angle.

What's changed is everything underneath. Dynamic analysis of the interaction between the stays and leg movement during pedaling drove a counter-intuitive decision: inclining the stays inward by 2.5°. The data pointed there, so we followed it.

The rear triangle is also slightly lengthened — enabling cleaner integration of the new drivetrain with UDH dropouts, increased tire clearance up to 34mm, and improved stability at speed.

Front tire clearance

The Filante SLR ID2 is engineered to perform across a wide range of conditions. Tire clearance up to 34mm gives you the flexibility to select the right tire for the terrain without sacrificing aerodynamic efficiency.

The removable derailleur mount enables single chainring configuration, supporting up to 55 teeth. Less weight. Cleaner lines. More performance where it counts.

Geometries and fitting

Direct collaboration with the Groupama-FDJ United Cycling Team drove the refinement of every detail on the Filante SLR ID2. Our objective was to refine a fitting system precise enough to be truly individualized.

The AccuFit system maintains geometric consistency and fitting accuracy across every frame size — delivering a balanced, high-performance riding position regardless of height or riding style.

The numbers: 6 frame sizes, 7 handlebar width combinations, 5 stem sizes, and 2 seatpost versions. That's 420 distinct configurations, each separated by just 2mm. The result is a riding position engineered to your exact dimensions, with no compromises.
